1. UNVEIL ONLINE
We have experienced years of injustice and oppression under Islamic veiling. Every February 1, we protest by sharing our unveiled pictures online, to show that veiling is not our identity or choice. Post photos/videos on social media under the hashtags #nohijabday and #freefromhijab.
2. PROTEST!
Take a banner, take some friends, and take a bridge. We are encouraging signs and banners with "NO HIJAB DAY" and "FREE FROM HIJAB", and we also encourage creativity--all peaceful, feminist images and slogans welcome.
As for the bridge, we want the women who have the freedom to reach across the gulfs of culture and country to the women who don't. Be the bridge. There are women imprisoned right now in the real life Handmaid's Tale and they need us to join our voices to theirs. Our dream is a day of women's solidarity and sisterhood spreading across the world.
Most towns and cities have an iconic bridge that can provide a visible backdrop for your protest. If there's no bridge, pick an overpass, a park, an intersection, a statue, anything that seems appropriate.

3. VOLUNTEER!
Sign up to be the pointwoman for the protest in your area. Your job is to pick a spot, publicize it, and bring the banners. We'll get you looped in to our network of organizers so we can synchronize our watches as the day approaches. You won't be doing this alone!
4. ORGANIZE!
If you want to do more, organize an evening of education about the harms of hijab and the brave women challenging some of the most misogynist regimes on the planet. This could be a private, invitation-only gathering or an event that's open to the public. See the list of recommended films on our [resources] page. Or invite some speakers for a talk or a panel discussion.
